Our 1 Ton JK HD Tie Rod is a direct bolt on upgrade, no drilling or reaming required! Simply remove your factory tie rod, and install ours! The Factory Tie Rod on the JK is simply not up to the task of holding up to larger tires. The tie rod sees a majority of the stress when turning large tires offroad..causing it to be susceptible to buckling or bending. Also, being that the tie rod sits directly in front of the front axle, and is one of the lowest points on the Jeep, it can frequently come in contact with rocks. Finally, the factory tie rod ends on the JK will wear pre-maturely leading to poor steering and even Death Wobble. Our HD Tie Rod System replaces the entire tie rod with a heavy duty system designed and manufactured here in house. We use 1.5" 1045 SOLID Alloy" which is exponentially stronger than the factory material used. Our HD Tie Rod System is able to take direct contact with rocks (or other obstacles) offroad without fear of bending. Our 1 Ton Tie Rod Ends are much larger than the factory tie rod ends, and are directly greasable (via a zerk fitting). These will provide the most quiet and factory like steering characteristics. *We recommend this kit be installed with aftermarket wheels, the factory 17" JK wheels to not have a sufficient backspacing to allow for the larger rod ends to clear. A wheel with 4.75" Backspacing or Numerically less.
