CavFab Jeep JK HD Drag Link System

The Factory Drag Link on the JK is simply not up to the task of holding up to larger tires. The drag link sees alot of force turning large tires on and offroad..causing it to be susceptible to buckling or bending. Also, being that the drag link is the connector between your steering gear box and axle, a failure will leave you stranded on the trail. Finally, the factory tie rod ends on the JK will wear pre-maturely leading to poor steering and even Death Wobble. Our HD Drag Link System replaces the entire drag link with a heavy duty system designed and manufactured here in house. We use 1.5" x .25" wall DOM tubing which is exponentially stronger than the factory material used. Our HD Drag Link System is able to take the force of turning large tires on the street or trail without the fear of bending. Our Drag Link system features a "high clearance" bend that is designed to clear your front sway bar, so no cutting or trimming is needed to install. We offer 2 different rod end options for you to choose from. First is our 1 Ton Tie Rod Ends.. These are much larger than the factory tie rod ends, and are directly greasable (via a zerk fitting). These will provide the most quiet and factory like steering characteristics. Secondly we offer a Chromoly heim joint rod end option. The heim joint rod end option is equally as strong and also provides great handling characteristics..however if you choose the Heim joint option, be advised that you will need to frequently lubricate the heim joints as they are not sealed like the tie rod ends are. Either rod end option is perfect for anything from a daily driver, weekend wheeler, or hardcore wheeler however the tie rod end option tends to outlast the heim joints simply because they are sealed from the elements. *We also offer an optional Drag Link Flip kit. This moves your drag link to the top side of the knuckle for a flatter drag link angle. This Drag Link Flip Option is only recommended if you have a raised front track bar mount**

*We recommend this kit be installed with aftermarket wheels, the factory 17" JK wheels to not have a sufficient backspacing to allow for the larger rod ends to clear. A wheel with 4.75" Backspacing or Numerically less. If you run factory wheels with a 1" or larger wheel spacer this will suffice also** If you have any questions about fitment with a particular wheel, feel free to contact us for assistance.

**Installation of this product is quite straight forward. If you choose the 1 ton tie rod ends, you will need to re-taper the holes in your knuckles to accept the larger rod ends, this is a simple process and can be done at home easily (we sell the required taper bit if needed). If you choose the Chromoly Heim Joint option, you will drill out the knuckles holes (to 3/4" to accept the new hardware included with the heim joints). Again, this is a simple process and can be done at home in your garage / driveway**
